If you’re pregnant and experiencing breakouts, it can be hard to know what products are safe and effective.
To make it easier, my friends at HEALTH came up with a list of safe ingredients, and asked for my input.
We all know that honey is a great natural sweetener, but did you know it’s also anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial?
These properties in honey calm your skin, help improve acne and acne scars and leave your skin feeling soft!
To reap these benefits, apply honey to face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wipe off with soft washcloth. Use up to 3 times a week.
Diminish acne scarring!
Treat a pimple at the first sign of a breakout so your skin doesn’t develop hyper-pigmentation (brown spots) in response to acne inflammation.
And as always, practice sun protection – because sun damage can worsen brown spots!
If you experience acne, try consuming whole foods – like lean poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and beans.
These foods have been shown to improve acne by 50%, compared to processed and high-sugar foods – which promote inflammation and can disrupt blood sugar and insulin levels.
We use sunglasses and cell phones daily – but they can cause acne!
“Acne mechanica” are pimples caused by constant friction. The warmth and moisture created by this friction is the perfect host for bacteria that can lead to acne.
My advice would be to limit your use of both sunglasses and cell phone – put those fancy Dior’s on your head when you’re not in the sun, and use hand-free devices with your phone. Also, make sure to clean your phone and glasses regularly to get rid of residue!
